Theodore M. "Ted" Cole, a long-time resident of Norton, MA, passed away on August 10, 2024, at home surrounded by loved ones after a valiant battle with illness in Upper Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania. Born on July 15, 1951, in Boston, Ted was known for his analytical mind, and distinctive sense of humor to all who knew him. He was the devoted son of the late Theodore E. Cole and Bernadette (Maxwell) Cole.
Ted's journey began in Hyde Park, where he grew up surrounded by the love and support of his family. He graduated from Cathedral High and later attended Newbury College where he honed his skills in Computer Science. He launched his career with the Bank of Boston and demonstrated unwavering dedication as the bank transitioned through mergers, culminating in a distinguished 39-year tenure with Bank of America before his well-deserved retirement.
Throughout his life, Ted found joy in the simple pleasures. His love for his dog Buddy, and his late dog Bear, was profound and evident to all. He found solace in the melodies of his favorite music, the sweet taste of his preferred ice cream, and the intricate beauty of antique model trains. His interests were a reflection of his personality—thoughtful, engaging, and always with a touch of whimsy.
Ted's family was the cornerstone of his world. He was a loving husband to his late wife, Christine (Sullivan) Cole, and a devoted father to his children, Melissa Haskell and her significant other Michael Tower, and son, Gregory Cole. He was predeceased by his daughters Allison Cole and Elise Cole, whose fiancé Corey Oler remains a cherished family member. Ted's legacy continues through his granddaughter, Bryanna (Haskell) Bukowski and her husband Matthew, and his grandson, Cole Haskell, and the coming arrival of a great-granddaughter.
The family tree, branched with love and shared memories, includes sisters Sandra Roscia and her husband Patrick, Denise Sullivan and her late husband John, Susan Byrnes and her husband Stephen, Kathy Gundacker and her significant other John Tulipano, and Geri Johnson and her husband Don. He was predeceased by his sister Stephanie Allegro, whose husband Roger continues to honor her memory. Each sister was his "favorite". His broader family circle included Paul Sullivan and his wife Jan, Lynn McDonald, Larry Sullivan with his wife Iveta, and his late brother-in-law Kenneth Sullivan. Ted's life was further enriched by the presence of numerous nieces and nephews, each holding a special place in his heart.
Services will be held at Alexander Thomas and Sons in Walpole, MA. On Saturday, September 28, 2024 a wake will be held from 9-10 am, followed by burial at Timothy Plain Cemetery in Norton.
Ted will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Dana Farber Jimmy Fund Walk Team "The Rak Pack" in his honor.
