Robert B. Knowles Jr.

Robert Briggs Knowles Jr of Norfolk, MA passed away Saturday, April 26th 2025  surrounded by his family. 

Mr. Knowles was the son of Robert Briggs Knowles and Elizabeth (Perry) Knowles of Fairhaven, MA.

He is a descendant of Richard Knowles, a merchant and navigator who arrived from England in 1637.

Robert (Rob) is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy (Virginia Margaret) Knowles and their children
Taylor Knowles, Trevor Knowles and fiancée, Sarah Deutsch, who is expecting Rob and Peggy's first grandchild this summer. 

He is also survived by his sister Cynthia Knowles (Rhet) Denault.  A niece Sabrina (Valentin) Nikolov and nephew Brett (Amy) Denault and their children. 

Rob grew up in Fairhaven MA and graduated from Fairhaven High School, class of 1970.  He graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology. Rob worked as a Project Manager  for several engineering firms specializing in the construction of water treatment facilities throughout Massachusetts.  Mr. Knowles retired from Walsh Construction N.E., in 2015.  

Rob adored his yard: gardening, planting his flower boxes, watching birds building their nests and enjoying coffee on the deck.  He loved vacations to Cape Cod filled with morning beach walks collecting shells along the way.  Grilling before the evening sunsets with the family were his most cherished moments.  Rob was a truly loving and devoted father and husband.  A loyal fan of all Boston sports including the Bruins, Celtics, Patriots and Revolution.  

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10am  Friday, May 9th, at the Alexander Thomas Funeral Home, 45 Common St. Walpole, MA 02081
