Patrick Hurley Obituary

Patrick M. Hurley, of Walpole, formerly of Milton and South Boston, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025 with his family by his side. Born on October 14, 1958 in Boston, Pat's journey through life was marked by love, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to his family.

Pat was the beloved husband of Cheryl Hurley (Manning), with whom he shared a loving marriage of 39 years. Together, they built a life filled with joy and cherished memories. Pat was a devoted father, who took immense pride in his daughters, Danielle Capdeville and her husband René of North Andover, Noelle Hurley and her partner Ryan Alden of Walpole, and Molly Hurley and her fiancé Stephen Smith of Milton. He cherished his role as “Papa” to Thea Capdeville and Roman Patrick Smith, who brought immeasurable joy into his life.

The cherished son of the late John "Wacko" and Margaret "Molly" (Deveney) Hurley, Pat grew up with a close-knit family. He was the loving brother to John Hurley Jr. of Florida, Michael Hurley of Florida, Anne McDavitt and her husband Joe of Florida, Margaret Hurley of South Boston, Lisa McDonough and her husband Michael of Plymouth, and Jacqueline Delaney and her late husband Thomas of Quincy. Pat's generosity and kindness extended to his role as a loving uncle to Bryan Fitzpatrick and the many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and close friends who survive him.

A proud graduate of South Boston High School, Pat carried the values of his upbringing throughout his life. He dedicated over 15 years of service as a supervisor for Keolis Railroad Company, where he was a respected and integral part of the Commuter Rail team. Pat's commitment to his work was matched only by his love for his family and his passion for life.

Pat's interests and hobbies were as vibrant and diverse as his personality. His love of dogs, especially his Bichon Bowie, inspired him to take up dog grooming and he became the go-to groomer for friends and family. He was an avid gardener, taking particular joy in pruning Bonsai trees, and he relished the simple pleasures of sitting by the pool, soaking up the sun, and delving into a good book. Family was the cornerstone of Pat's life, and he loved nothing more than spending time with them, whether at the beach, by the grill or hosting Sunday football parties.

Described by those who knew him as tender hearted, sensitive and selfless, Pat's legacy is one of a life well-lived and well-loved.  As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, we do so with gratitude for the time we shared with him and the lessons he taught us. To know Pat was to love him. He will be deeply missed, but forever remembered in the hearts of those he touched.
