Patricia A. Kirrane (McCarthy) "Poodles" of Foxboro, passed peacefully on April 14, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 83. She was predeceased by her adoring Husband Edward Kirrane. Pat was the loving Daughter of the late William and Mary (Cavicchi) McCarthy. Sister of Joan and the late Frank Noonan of Stoughton, Jackie and Dan McNeil of Weymouth, and the late William McCarthy and Roger McCarthy. Devoted Mother of Jacqueline and her husband John Carroll of Foxboro, Edward Kirrane of Campton, New Hampshire. Loving Nana of Julia Kirrane. Also survived by many Nieces, Nephews, Family and Friends.
Pat was raised in South Boston by her parents along with her two brothers and two sisters. At the age of 16, she met Mary Anne and they became lifelong friends of 67 years. After getting engaged on Carson Beach in Southie, she married Ed, the love of her life, and raised two children in Westwood.
Pat was a waitress for many years. She worked at Guidos Restaurant in Walpole, Joseph’s Seafood in Needham and Anne’s Lunch in Westwood.
Spending summers at her cottage on Agawam Beach Road was her happy place as she enjoyed hosting family cookouts, going to the beach, swimming and of course getting a tan. Pat did not have many hobbies, but her interests were not limited. She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching Hallmark movies, talking to her sisters on the phone, Thursday night dinners with the girls and traveling with her husband.
Later in life her husband Ed was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis and she honorably and gracefully cared for him until the very end. Pat was a tough woman as she courageously battled breast cancer and beat it only to have it return years later.
Pat had many nicknames, but the one that stuck with her for many years was Poodles.
Pat was a generous woman with a compassionate soul who donated to many different charities, St. Jude being one she deeply cared about. If called upon, she was the first to help others when needed. If gold was an organ Pat’s heart was solid!
