Maurice “Moe” LaCasse, formerly of East Walpole and Norwood, was born on July 27, 1931, in Boston. He passed away peacefully at his residence at Orchard Cove in Canton from complications of Covid in the early morning of January 23, 2022, at the age of 90.
Moe entered the United States Navy in 1950 and served on the USS Taraw until his honorable discharge in 1954. He is predeceased by his father, Octave, and mother, Blanche Anctil LaCasse, as well as 4 brothers: Mickey, Arthur, Joe and Raymond and his son-in-law, Michael W. Rezendes.
He is survived by his three children, Michele Rezendes of Millis, Timothy LaCasse of Sagamore Beach and Richard LaCasse and his wife, Michelle, of Mattapoisett. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, who fondly knew him as Papa Moe: Christopher, Jonathan, Alexandra, Jack, Carly, Tyler, Madison and Abigail and 3 great grandchildren: Carter, Annie and Ben. He is also survived by youngest brother, Henry LaCasse, of Derry, NH, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Moe was a passionate Patriots fan and had been a season ticket holder since 1960.. He also loved watching horse races and trips to Vegas, Plainridge and Foxwoods and meeting his friends at Dunkin Donuts.
A private service will be celebrated in the Spring.
