Leo F. White of Quincy formerly of Revere and Dorchester passed on July 13 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 74. Former husband of the late Suzanne White. Devoted father of Stephanie Patti and her husband Mark of Billerica and David White and his wife Heather of Walpole. Cherished brother of Maureen Magri of Hanover, Paul of Georgia, Kevin of Dorchester, Kathy Loranger of Plymouth and Joanne Anderson of Bridgewater. Loving "Palo" of Abigail, David Jr., Andrew, Jonathan, Caroline, Suzanne, Jessica and Catherine and also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, July 22 from 4-8pm at the Alexander F. Thomas & Sons Funeral Home, 45 Common Street, Walpole, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 23 at 10:30am at St. Timothy's Church, 650 Nichols Street, Norwood, MA. Relatives and friends invited. Interment will be in Mt Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury.
For over 4 decades Leo White has been a fixture on the Boston television sports scene as a statistician, graphics producer and feature writer on Boston Red Sox, Bruins, Revolution and Celtics telecasts; having worked for The New England Sports Network (NESN) and NBC Sports Boston. He was especially known for writing and producing award-winning audio documentaries covering Boston Sports. Beyond his sports writing talents, Leo also authored several novels scanning the literary landscape from serious and intense storylines to suspense filled tomes.
