In Loving Memory of Kathleen Violet McCormack. Kathleen Violet McCormack, a beacon of resilience and strength, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025 at the age of 93, surrounded by family. Born and raised in London England, and having survived the German bombings of World War II, she was a living testament to the indomitable British spirit of her generation. As a child during the war, she faced immense adversity with grace and fortitude by selflessly helping to guide and protect her siblings. Even though Kathleen was not the oldest in her family, her mother often chose her to stay home from school to help with housework. The echoes of air raid sirens and the sight of London’s skyline ablaze did not deter Kathleen; instead, these hardships forged in her a resilience that would define the rest of her life. After the war and at age 22, Kathleen boarded the Neptunia passenger ship and embarked on a new journey to build a life in the United States. She settled in Sharon Massachusetts where she raised her family. Kathy was a pillar of her community, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her kindness and generosity in her community touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her. Her legacy is not just one of survival, but of triumph over adversity. Her life serves as a reminder that even in the face of unimaginable hardship, it is possible to persevere and build a meaningful life. In 2016 she accepted Jesus as her personal savior and is now in unspeakable glory. She is survived by four children; Stephen A. McCormack, Michael J. McCormack, Robert M. McCormack, Susan C. Callello and several grandchildren. Her family was her pride and joy, and she instilled in them the same resilience and determination that had carried her through life’s challenges. She is predeceased by her husband Louis F. McCormack. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, and all who had the privilege to know her. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate her remarkable life and the enduring spirit she embodied.
