June Marie Ajemian (Hutton), affectionately known as June, passed away peacefully after a courageous fight on November 24, 2025, in Wrentham, MA. Born on May 5, 1936, in New Haven, Conn, she was a beacon of kindness and warmth throughout her 89 years.
June was the beloved wife of the late Leo B. Ajemian Sr., whom she married in 1956. Their loving partnership lasted until Leo's passing in 1990. She was a devoted mother to her sons, Leo Ajemian Jr. and his wife Laurie of Walpole, and Jerry Ajemian and his wife Debra of Walpole. June was also a cherished sister to the late Gerald Hutton and the late Barbara Smalley. She held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren, Joseph, Leo, Katie, Allison, and Leanne, who knew her as their adoring "Nana." Her nephew, Thomas Hutton of Roslindale, along with many other loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends, will fondly remember June's friendly and loving nature.
After graduating from high school, June embraced the role of a homemaker, dedicating herself to raising her family with love and care. Once her children were grown, she entered the workforce, initially serving the City of Boston as a Meter Maid. Her career path then led her to become a Jail Matron for Suffolk County Jail, followed by several years as a Court Officer for the Suffolk Superior Trial Court until her well-deserved retirement.
June's interests were centered around her family. She loved to travel with them, particularly enjoying trips to Cape Cod. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Known for her exceptional hospitality, June hosted Thanksgiving for many years, creating a legacy of cherished family traditions. In later years, she took great pleasure in visiting family homes to celebrate the holiday.
Those who knew June would describe her as loving, kind, and friendly. She had a gift for making others feel welcomed and valued, and her presence was a source of comfort and joy to many. Her memory will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
June's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and service to others. Her legacy will continue to inspire those she leaves behind, and her spirit will remain a guiding light for her family. As we say farewell to June Marie Ajemian, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of grace, compassion, and an unending capacity to care for others. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
