Josephine Hebden (Grasso) of Canton, formerly of Braintree, Brockton, and Hyde Park, passed peacefully on February 3, 2026 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 91.  Beloved wife of the late Roy Hebden for 51 wonderful years.  Devoted mother of Joanne Hebden Palfai and her husband Tibor Palfai of Canton, David Hebden and his wife Julie Thompson of Hanover, and Stephen Hebden and his wife Doreen of Fort Myers, Florida.  Loving "Grandma Josie" of Sara Madden and her husband Brian and Michael Hebden.  Great-grandmother of Matilda and Winifred Madden and also survived by many other relatives and close friends.

Nothing was more important to Josie than her family. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her love for her family was unparalleled.

She was a completely selfless person, always putting the needs of others before her own without ever expecting anything in return. She provided unconditional love and support to all of those in her world and had the unique ability to make everyone feel cherished. Her kindness and compassion knew no bounds.

Her dedication to her children was extraordinary. She provided encouragement and support and instilled confidence and values in them and a belief that they could accomplish anything. Her lifetime devotion to her husband and parents was also remarkable. In later years, she provided exemplary care to her ailing parents as well as her husband when he endured a chronic illness. Her ability to provide comfort and love made her an exceptional caregiver, a role she embraced with all her heart.

She had a remarkable work ethic and took on challenging jobs such as school bus driver, caterer, and construction project estimator, while also taking amazing care of her family.  In addition, she spent many years of her life doing charitable works, including feeding the homeless, buying clothes and gifts for those in need, and providing love and support to her countless friends.

Josie did not just believe in but lived by the values of her Catholic faith.  Her legacy is one of generosity, compassion, and kindness.  She was truly an exceptional person who touched the lives of so many.

Josie was the heart and soul of our family. We are extremely blessed to have had her in our lives and our love for her is immeasurable. Her love and encouragement shaped who we are today. She will forever live on in us.
