Jennifer Renzi Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jennifer A. Renzi, 48, of Hyde Park, Massachusetts, who passed away after a courageous battle in the ICU following complications from breast cancer.

Born in Salem, Massachusetts, to Anthony L. Renzi and Mary Jane Renzi 4.5 weeks early. She was a feisty fighter from her first breath to her last! Jen grew into the kind of person who made life brighter simply by being in it. She was joyful, loving, funny, and always ready for the next adventure. Jen had a way of bringing people together — whether it was through a game of bowling or cornhole, cheering on the New England Patriots, watching women’s soccer with friends, showing off her love of tattoos, or planning her next trip with those she loved.

Jen dedicated nearly three decades of her life to meaningful work at Work Inc. and South Shore Mental Health, where her compassion, patience, and heart for others made a lasting difference in the lives of so many.

She was an active and proud member of the Deaf community. Jen attended The Learning Center in Framingham and was a member of the 1995-1996 Championship Basketball Team — an accomplishment she carried with pride. Throughout her illness, she was surrounded by an incredible circle of friends who rallied around her, giving her strength, comfort, and love when she needed it most.  Jen also adored her beloved cats, Bella and Snowball, who brought her constant comfort and companionship.

She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and her soul dog Bonita the Chihuahua.

She is survived by her loving brother, Anthony Renzi, and his wife Sherrie; her cherished niece Isabella and nephew Joseph; her Uncle James Stella and his wife Caroline; her Aunt Marie Oakley and her husband Dana Oakley; her Aunt Johanna Renzi; Uncle Paul Renzi and his wife Linda; cousins Darlene Stella; Danielle Gallant and her family; Phillip Renzi, Alethea Renzi and Paula Renzi and their families; Godmother Judy Massucci, and her close friends; Mirna Lorena, Heather and Matthew Castiglione and their daughter Daisie, Jen’s beloved goddaughter who shared her birthday; along with countless dear friends whose lives were deeply touched by her kindness and spirit.  The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated team at MGH Ellison 4 SICU for the compassion, skill, and unwavering care they provided Jen during her illness.

Jen’s greatest joy was time spent with her beloved family and friends. Her laughter, warmth, adventurous soul, and generous heart will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
