Grethe Frances Reddick, passed away peacefully at her home in North Easton, MA, on July 17, 2025, after 93 years of a good life. Born on February 23, 1932, in Norwood, MA, to the late Richard and Dagmar Storkfelt, Grethe lived a life marked by a love for working with her hands and working on her yard, a love for her family and a good laugh, a lifelong passion for dancing, and joyous appreciation of wildlife and countless family pets.

In 1952, Grethe married the late Walter B. "Buddy" Reddick. Together in Sharon Mass, they raised a family of four children, Linda Reddick Cohen of East Taunton, Wesley Reddick and his wife Willy of Belfast, Maine, Walter S. Reddick and his wife Teresa of Marietta, Georgia, and Glen Reddick of Sharon, MA. Grethe is also survived by her grandchildren, Tammy Cohen and her husband Nathan Subramanian, Samantha Niccoli and her husband Nick, Meagan Moody and her husband Jonathan, and Matthew Reddick and his wife Amaya. Grethe was proud to be "Great Grethe" to Benjamin, Oliver, Shyamala, Ryland, and Nora.

Grethe remained in constant contact with her siblings, the late Elsie Gleichauf of Walpole and the late Elaine Leedham of Duxbury, keeping their families connected with birthday parties, cookouts, Thanksgiving meals and Christmas get-togethers. Her companion, in her later years, the late Bob Clawson, helped keep her dancing, working on the gardens, and frequenting yard sales. Grethe's extended family of nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends will remember her as a source of support, friendship, love and terrific yard sale items.

Grethe showed talent as a child with drawing and color, she learned sewing easily, and took great pride in dressing well, and doing her hair for the perfect look.  She took part in school plays, was in student government and was the class secretary. Grethe was a good and serious student in school, and had many good friends: “Of manners gentle, of affections mild ” is her descriptor in the ‘49er’s Sharon High School yearbook. After graduating, Grethe’s first job was bookkeeper at Bird and Son in Walpole. She moved on to the Sharon Credit Union before taking to her higher aspirations of raising a family.

As a mother she made outfits for her daughter and her dolls, and later for her grandchildren. She mended clothes, made curtains, upholstered furniture, gave hair cuts, worked on the house, wallpapered, painted, did yard work, fixed things that were broken, took part in musical shows, raised four children and raked leaves into giant piles for them to jump into.

As her children matured, she decided to return to working outside the home, this time at Marshall’s Dept store, soon becoming the no nonsense manager of the service desk, a role she held until her retirement. Her eagerness to work and help out came in handy for years with her volunteering at the Sharon Historical Society annual yard sale and other events including at times helping people move.

Grethe Reddick will be remembered as a loving, creative, and friendly soul who touched the lives of many, and stayed connected with old friends and classmates for her entire life. Her work ethic and dedication to her home and family, inspires those who have known her and are proud to call her their friend. As we bid farewell to Grethe, we can celebrate a life well lived, a life of good work, laughter, and love.
