Gerri E. Polo, a cherished beacon of love and joy, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 7, 2025. Born on January 29, 1949, in Marlboro, MA, Gerri's life was a testament to her warmth, compassion, and enduring spirit.

The devoted wife of the late James C. Polo, Gerri's love story began after a few years of courtship, leading to their marriage in 1971. Together, they embarked on a journey of love and family, welcoming their first child in 1973 and a set of twins in 1981. Gerri's role as a mother was one she treasured deeply, offering endless support and guidance to her children, Lisa Collins and her husband Kevin (MSP) of Franklin, Lindsay Howard and her husband John (BFD) of Walpole, and Leslie Caruso and her husband James (BFD) of Franklin.

Gerri was the loving daughter of the late Francis and Arlene Bracken. She found strength and friendship in her siblings, being the cherished sister of Joanne Gaynor and her late husband Mickey, Michael Bracken and his wife Brenda, and the late Robert Bracken. Her role as a sister was paralleled only by her unwavering commitment to her family, further extended to her late sister-in-law Nancy Cosgrove and the late Jimmy Cosgrove. She was also a beloved aunt and friend, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her many nieces, nephews, and great friends.

Affectionately known as "YaYa" to her grandchildren, Gerri's presence was a source of light and laughter in their lives. She adored her grandchildren Riely, Teagan, Curren, Baylee, Sheamus, Tinsley, Fallon, and Devyn, and the joy they shared was immeasurable. Every Christmas, Gerri's generosity knew no bounds as she filled their hearts and homes with more presents than one could imagine, each gift a symbol of her boundless love.

Gerri's academic achievements included graduating from Marlboro High School, followed by earning her master's degree in Nursing from Cambridge College. Her professional journey as a caring and skilled nurse spanned several decades. She dedicated about ten years to Norwood Hospital, then transitioned to work at Pediatric Associates of Norwood, and ultimately found her calling in the Walpole School System as an Elementary School nurse, where she left an indelible mark on the community for over 20 years.

Gerri's zest for life was evident in her myriad interests. She loved spending time at the beach, with Cape Cod and Point Sebago, Maine, being her favorite retreats. Being around her family and grandchildren was her greatest pleasure, and she relished in hosting holidays, entertaining with a grace and ease that made everyone feel at home. Her love for the casino, shared with family, was matched by her simple joys, like savoring a glass of Sangria or indulging in a bag of Twizzlers.

Known for her love of dancing, Gerri's presence was electric as she swayed to the music of her son-in-law's band, "It's a J Thing," her laughter and rhythm infusing energy into every crowd. In later years, she found a new circle of friends at the Enclave Assisted Living, where her loving, funny, and gentle nature brightened the lives of all who knew her.

Gerri E. Polo lived a life rich in love, laughter, and service to others. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a guiding light and source of unconditional love. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her, and her impact will be felt for generations to come.
