Gerard R Lane

Gerard R. Lane of Walpole and Falmouth, formerly of Dorchester passed peacefully on August 11 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 85.  Beloved husband of the late Carol A. (McHugh) of 62 years.  Devoted father of Gerard Lane Jr of Walpole, Brian Lane and his wife Kathy of Walpole, and Susan Lane of Falmouth.  Cherished brother of Mary White of Ohio and the late Joseph and John Lane.  Loving "Grampy" of James Lane and his wife Karen of Wrentham and the late Justin Lane, great grandfather of Lincoln Mack Lane.  Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.  Funeral from the Alexander F. Thomas and Sons Funeral Home 45 Common Street Walpole, Wednesday morning at 9, followed by a mass of christian burial at St Timothy's Church Norwood at 10.  Visiting hours will be held Tuesday evening from 5-8 at the funeral home.  Internment at The Veterans National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:30 PM, relatives and friends invited.  Jerry was an Army Veteran and a longtime Norwood Public School Industrial Arts Teacher.
