George Ward

WARD, George of Walpole, formerly of Norwood, February 12, surrounded by his loving family, age 89. Beloved husband of the late Jean (Napoli) of 60 years. Devoted father of Bonita Ward, Patricia Cavanaugh and her husband Jeff, Barbara Benway, Teresa Ward, Mary Casinelli and her husband Arthur, and Donna Ward, all of Walpole. Cherished brother of Robert Ward and his wife Marion of West Roxbury, and the late Dorothy Fagrey and Pauline Nasif. Loving grandfather of Stephen Benway, William Cavanaugh, Paul Casinelli, Angela Cavanaugh, Jacleen Casinelli, and Peter Casinelli. Great grandfather of Alexis Cavanaugh. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday evening from 4:00-8:00PM at the Alexander F. Thomas & Sons Funeral Home, 45 Common St., WALPOLE. Relatives and friends invited. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 11:00AM at Our Lady of the Cedars of Lebanon Church, 61 Rockwood St., Jamaica Plain. Interment at Mt. Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury.

George was an Attorney in Boston for over 50 years and he was a very proud WWII Army Veteran who served in the 3rd Army under General Patton. He saw combat in the D-Day invasion, Liberation of France, Battle of the Bulge, and Occupation of Germany.
