Francis Swenson Jr. Obituary

Francis Bradford (Brad) Swenson, Jr of Walpole, died peacefully on March 17 after a lengthy illness.  He was born in Charleston, SC on April 20, 1944 and was the son of the late Francis Bradford Swenson and Gladys (Walker) Swenson.  Brad called Walpole his home for nearly his entire life. He was a member of the WHS graduating class off 1962 and was active in planning class reunions with his peers. After graduating from Bowdoin College, Brad served in the US Army as a Lieutenant on tours in Vietnam and Korea. Upon returning to the US, he began working alongside his father Fran at the family clothing store, Swenson’s Mens Shop. He then had a successful career in real-estate where he was able to meet and help so many people who lived in Walpole and the surrounding communities.  Brad is survived by his beloved wife Linda (Mellin) Swenson. He was the devoted father to Kristin Cauley and her husband Michael Cauley of Phoenix, AZ, Karin Share and her husband Jonathan Share of Foxboro, MA and Meridith Swenson of Phoenix, AZ. Brad was adored by his four grandchildren, Samuel and Caroline Cauley and Lauren and Emily Share. He is survived by his sisters Beth Tanner and Carin Swenson. Brad was pre-deceased by his two brothers Rod and Carl Swenson and lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be Monday, March 27th at 11AM at Federated Church of Norfolk, 1 Union Street, Norfolk, MA.  Relatives and friends invited.   Please in lieu of flowers, donations in Brad’s name may be sent to the Alzheimer’s association www.alz.org.
