Floyd “Mickey” Alpher, a man of integrity and kindness passed away peacefully of natural causes at home, surrounded by his devoted family, on Sunday, May 26, 2024. Born on October 20, 1946, Mickey was a symbol of compassion, consideration, and generosity, touching the lives of all who knew him.
Mickey was the beloved husband of Dorothy Alpher (Pecora), with whom he shared 59 years of love and companionship. Together, they built a family grounded in warmth and mutual respect. He was a devoted father to his three children: Danielle Alpher and her husband Mike Newsham, Brian Alpher and his wife Claudia Alpher, and his daughter Anjanette Cuan. He cherished his role as a grandfather to his three grandsons, Evan Alpher, Mason Alpher, and Eduardo Cuan, and took immense joy in their lives.
As the eldest brother of six children, Mickey was a role model to his five siblings: Eileen Thomas, Gregory Alpher, Bobby Alpher, Debbie Romano, and Michael Alpher. He was a constant source of support and wisdom for them, as well as for his many nieces and nephews. His family bonds were strong, characterized by his ever-present willingness to listen and offer guidance.
Mickey's positive nature and capacity to find the good in any situation made him a treasured friend to many. He had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel valued and understood, fostering an atmosphere of warmth and tranquility for those around him.
His legacy of love, humility, and devotion to family will continue to inspire all who were touched by his gentle spirit and his memory will be a source of solace in the days ahead.
Rest in peace, Mickey. Your compassionate nature and loving heart will continue to guide and comfort us always. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
