Eleanor Davidson (Niethold), born on April 11, 1930, in Boston, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. Eleanor was raised in Sharon on the family farm. She was 95 years old. Eleanor was the beloved wife of the late Master Chief Frank Davidson USN. For 30 years she navigated countless deployments and relocations fostering a home filled with warmth and love. Together, they built a life rooted in love and family over many cherished years. Her devotion as a mother was unwavering, and she leaves behind a legacy of warmth and strength through her children: Michael and his wife Lee of Weymouth; Debra Casebier and her husband Tom of Pearland, Texas; Scott and his wife Cammie of St. John’s, Florida; Judith Busch and her husband David of Peachtree City, Georgia; and Susan Fogarty and her husband Christ of Middleburg, Florida. She was a cherished sister to Marie Riley and Marilyn Dangoia, both of Brockton. Eleanor was predeceased by her sister Virginia Edwards of Florida and brothers William Niethold and Frederick Niethold of Sharon. Her role as “Grandma” brought her immense joy. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Matthew Casebier, Ryan Casebier, Riley Casebier, Christian Davidson of California, Jeffrey Davidson of Plymouth, Nicholas Fogarty, Kelsey Franco, Andrew Davidson of Florida, Michael Casebier of Idaho, and Ellie Busch of Alabama. Eleanor’s love extended to her great-grandchildren— 13 in total— who brought light to her later years. She also held a special place in the hearts of many nieces and nephews. Eleanor was preceded in death by her grandson, Joseph Davidson of Florida. Her long life was marked by deep familial bonds that spanned generations and geography. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning (January 17) at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Sorrows Church 59 Cottage Street Sharon. Interment at Rock Ridge Cemetery in Sharon, relatives and friends invited.
