Edward G Myers

Edward G. Myers of Walpole passed at his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with Merkel Cell Carcinoma on August 20th at the age of 63.  Beloved husband of Colleen (O'Malley) of 33 years.  Cherished son of the late Francis and Ann Myers.  Devoted father of Matthew Edward Myers and his wife Diana of North Attleboro, Julianne McEnery and her husband Stephen of Walpole, Andrew Myers and his fiance Melissa of Norwood and Patrick Myers of Walpole.  Cherished brother of Nancy Boniface, Francis Myers, Stephen Myers and the late Paul Myers and Janet Arey.  Loving uncle of Kara Boniface, and also survived by many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, and his two dogs Hallie and Belle.  Funeral from the Alexander F. Thomas & Sons Funeral Home, 45 Common Street, Walpole, Friday morning at 9:30  followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Blessed Sacrament Church, Walpole at 10:30AM.   Visiting hours will be held Thursday evening from 5-8PM at the Funeral Home.  Relatives and friends invited.  Interment will be held at a later date.  Edward was an Air Force veteran and he surrounded himself with the things and people he loved most.  He had a dry wit and always made a friend wherever he went.  An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed golfing, boating, hunting, fishing, and taking daily hikes with his pups.  He was a fan of all Boston sports (he equally enjoyed cheering their wins and jeering their losses).  He spent countless hours coaching his children and their friends in various Walpole sports teams.  In recent years, he was most content working on projects at his homes in Walpole and Bridgton Maine.    Please in lieu of flowers all donations in Edward's memory can be made to Old Colony Hospice.
