Denise R Simmons

Denise "Deni" R. Simmons 68 of Taunton, MA passed away on January 16th.  She died peacefully surrounded by her loving family while battling acute myeloid leukemia. 

Deni attended Jeremiah E. Burke High School in Boston where she earned her high school diploma,  Upon graduation she went to work at Boston City Hospital.  She loved to watch her soaps and was a big Star Trek fan.  Her hobbies included photography, which she was very good at and scrapbooking, but her greatest love was her grandkids, family and friends.

Daughter of the late Lali and Roderick Johnson.  Deni was predeceased by her daughter Chauna Simmons.  Cherished sister of Gail Johnson of Hampstead, NH, Lita Johnson-Romano and her husband Michael Wohler of Walpole, MA, loving "Mama" to her three grandchildren, Elijah Simmons-Normil of Taunton, Olivia Simmons-Normil and Isaiah Normil of Malden, nephews James Romano 3rd of Mansfield, Victor Romano of Richmond, VA, Tavar Johnson of Hampstead, NH, her cat Mushu and many, many other family and friends.

Deni's ashes will be honored during a private celebration of life with family and friends at a later date.
