Christopher (Chris) Coen (56) passed peacefully on May 5th at his home in Walpole, MA in the presence of his family. Beloved husband of Ellen (Blundell) Coen and devoted father of Brendan, Declan, and Aileen Coen of Walpole, MA. Cherished brother of Thomas Coen of Provincetown, Mary Coen and her husband Jay Wyman of Sausalito, CA, Joseph Coen of Newton, MA. Theresa Barisano and husband Richard Barisano of Newton, MA and the late Lawrence (Larry) Coen of Boston, MA. Adored son of the late Thomas and Eleanor (Byrne) Coen of Newton, MA. Chris was deeply loved by many in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Although he lived just over the line into Newton as a kid, Chris always identified as a "Brighton Boy", playing for the Brighton Dodgers Little League team and the Brighton Braves men's league. Chris continued to share his love for baseball as a dedicated Walpole Little League coach for both of his sons' teams for many years and was admired by many throughout the town for his community involvement. A proud and hardworking electrician, Chris was well-known throughout the local 103 I.B.E.W. community, dedicating sixteen years of service to the organization. As a lifelong resident of the greater Boston area, Chris made many great friends over the years and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The Coen family would like to extend special recognition and appreciation to Chris' long-time caregivers, including Joey Coen, Annie Wolfe and the Caring Hospice Team. Funeral from the Alexander F. Thomas and Sons Funeral Home 45 Common Street Friday (5/13) morning at 9:30 followed by a mass of christian burial at St. Timothy's Church Norwood at 10:30. Visiting hours Thursday evening from 4-8 at the funeral home. Internment at Mt. Benedict Cemetery West Roxbury, relatives and friends invited.
