Catherine H. (Lutz) Curran, affectionately known as Cathy to her friends and loved ones, left this world peacefully on January 30, 2026, surrounded by the warmth of her family in Norfolk, having formerly lived in Milton and her birthplace, Weymouth, MA. Born on October 17, 1948, Cathy's life was a tapestry of love, creativity, and adventure that touched all who knew her.

Cathy's journey began in Weymouth, MA, where she was born to the late Charles and Mary (Grace) Lutz. Her zest for life was evident from an early age, and she carried this spirit throughout her years. In 1985, Cathy joined hands in marriage with her beloved husband, James Curran, in a beautiful ceremony in South Weymouth. Together, they celebrated 40 years of marriage.

A graduate with a bachelor's degree, Cathy channeled her creativity into a successful career as a Visual Merchandiser. Her talent for transforming spaces was evident in her 15-year tenure at Ikea, where she set up captivating displays. Prior to that, she dedicated a decade of her expertise to Country Curtains, ensuring that every design she touched brought comfort and beauty into homes.

Cathy's passion for life extended beyond her professional pursuits. She was a true animal lover, sharing her heart and home with two cherished cats, and never hesitating to rescue animals in need. Her keen eye for interior decorating was not just her profession but also her hobby, and she infused beauty into every corner of her life.

Family was the cornerstone of Cathy's world. She was the cherished sister of the late Alice Considine and her late husband Jack, and her late brother C. Richard Lutz. Cathy's love also extended to her siblings-in-law, Richard Curran and his wife Julie of Norfolk, Geraldine O'Farrell and her husband Gerard of Walpole, Kevin Curran of Avon, and she held dear the memory of the late John J. Curran. Her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, along with countless close friends, were blessed with her spirited presence, and she nurtured these relationships with the same care and affection she showed her beloved Jim.

Travel was one of Cathy's greatest joys, with Europe being a favorite destination. The memories created on these trips will be cherished by her family and will serve as a testament to her adventurous and friendly nature. During winters, she found solace in her Florida home.

Cathy's legacy is one of love and light. Described as loving, spirited, and friendly, she left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she encountered. Her life was a testament to the power of living with an open heart and a generous spirit. The world is indeed a brighter place for having been graced by Cathy's presence. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire and guide us. As we bid farewell to Catherine H. (Lutz) Curran, we take comfort in the countless moments of joy and love she shared with each of us.
