Carmella "Candy" A. Boyer (Compagnone), a beacon of love and kindness, passed away suddenly at her residence in Walpole, MA, on August 20, 2024. Born on November 24, 1937, in Boston, MA, she brought joy and warmth into the lives of all who knew her. Carmella was a cherished mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend whose legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of her loved ones.
A proud graduate of Hyde Park High School, Carmella went on to build a fulfilling career in Customer Service, dedicating over two decades of service to the clothing manufacturing industry at Robert Scott, David Brooks, and Andrew Harvey. Her work ethic and genuine care for others shone through in every interaction, making her a beloved figure among colleagues and customers alike.
Family was the cornerstone of Carmella's life. She was the devoted mother of Ricky Boyer and his wife Patricia Lemerise of Worcester, Lynette Lyons of Norfolk, Jody Boyer and his wife Margaret of Norton, and Natalie B. McCall and her husband Phil of Walpole. Carmella's love extended to her role as the loving "Nunna" to Candice, Jarred, Michelle, Christina, Nicole, Jake, and Jess, and she adored her great-grandchildren Brianna, Brandon, Brielle, and Julian. She was also the cherished sister of Nancy Sieb of Florida, James Compagnone of Walpole, and the late Laura Bruno. Her loving nieces, nephews, and friends survive her, each carrying a piece of her heart with them.
Carmella's interests and passions were a reflection of her love for life and family. Her days were often spent with "the girls," enjoying lunch outings, shopping trips, playing Bingo, and the thrill of yard saling on weekends. She was the heart of her family's holidays, cooking sumptuous meals that brought everyone together. Her famous homemade gnocchi, prepared with her nieces and sister, was a highlight of these festive gatherings. Carmella's unwavering love for her Italian heritage was evident in every dish she lovingly prepared.
Over the last nine years, Carmella's nurturing spirit shone brightly as she became like a second Mom to Natalie, who in turn was like a daughter to her. Her grandchildren were the recipients of her endless affection and care, and she embraced her role as "Nunna" with open arms and a boundless heart.
Those who knew Carmella would describe her as the embodiment of love, kindness, and selflessness. She gave of herself unconditionally, and her presence was a source of comfort and joy to many. Her passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but her spirit and the memories she created will continue to inspire and guide us.
