Barbara Crossen Obituary

 Barbara I (Hart) Crossen, a loving and gentle soul, passed away on April 22, 2023, in Walpole, MA. Born on June 20, 1925, in Boston, MA, she lived a long and fulfilling life surrounded by her cherished family and friends.

Barbara was the beloved wife of John J. Crossen for 79 wonderful years. Together, they raised a strong and devoted family. She was the proud mother of J. Michael Crossen and his wife Judith of Medfield, Janice Feeney and her husband Joseph of Hingham, Jacqueline Arnpriester and her husband Michael of Weymouth, and the late Paul Crossen and his surviving wife Nancy of Canton, and the late Patrick Crossen and his surviving wife Michele of Weymouth. Barbara was also a cherished sister to Dorothy Neelon of Quincy, Gerald Hart and his wife Caroline of Braintree, and the late Claire Doherty, Marjorie Beausang, and Jean Campbell.

A doting "Nana" to her 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-granddaughter, Barbara's love extended beyond her immediate family to her many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends. Her kindness and gentle nature left a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her.

As a high school graduate, Barbara entered the workforce and eventually became the Director of Personnel for the Suffolk County District Attorney's office. She was dedicated to her work and was highly respected by her colleagues for her kindness and professionalism.

Throughout her life, Barbara was known for her loving, kind, and gentle spirit. Her presence brought warmth and light to any room, and she was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her unwavering love and support for her family and friends will be remembered and cherished by all who had the pleasure of being a part of her life.

Barbara's passing is a great loss to her family, friends, and community. Her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched with her love, kindness, and gentle spirit. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a true example of a life well-lived.

Please join us in celebrating the life of Barbara I (Hart) Crossen, a remarkable woman who will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday morning from 9-11:00 at the Alexander F. Thomas and Sons Funeral Home 45 Common Street Walpole.  Interment at Knollwood Memorial Park Canton relatives and friends invited.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Please at Barbara's request all donations in her memory can be made to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital www.stjude.org.
