Anita M. Ducharme, affectionately known as Anita, of Walpole, Massachusetts, passed away on May 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 22, 1942, in Boston, Massachusetts, and lived a life defined by devotion to her family, kindness, and a joyful spirit that touched all who knew her.

Anita was the beloved wife of George O. Ducharme, with whom she shared 65 years of marriage after their wedding in 1961. Together, they built a beautiful life centered on love, faith, family, and countless cherished memories. She was a devoted mother to George G. Ducharme and his wife Marge of Norfolk, and to the late Gregory Ducharme and his surviving wife Kathleen Ducharme of Norwood. Her role as a mother was one she embraced with warmth, and unwavering support, and her children always knew they could count on her steady presence and loving guidance.

She was the cherished sister of Richard Cacciagrani and his wife Frances of Walpole, the late Carolyn Bailey and her late husband Frank, and the late Albert Cacciagrani and his surviving wife Susan of Norwood. Anita also held a special place in the hearts of her extended family as the loving “Nonnie” of Casey O’Rourke and her husband Michael, George D. Ducharme and his wife Caroline, and Jake Ducharme and his wife Bella. She was a proud great-grandmother of Grace and Molly O’Rourke and the late Luke William Ducharme. She was also the cherished sister-in-law of the late Priscilla Whitehouse and her late husband Earle, and she leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will remember her with great affection.

Anita was a graduate of Walpole High School, Class of 1960, and went on to build a long and dedicated career as secretary for L & M Securities Company, where she worked for more than 25 years. She was known for her reliability, professionalism, and she took pride in doing her work well. Her colleagues valued her not only for her competence, but also for the warmth and grace she brought to every day.

Outside of work, Anita enjoyed a full and active life surrounded by the people and activities she loved. She loved Bingo, Dominoes, and playing cards with her dear friends, and she treasured the simple pleasure of time spent in good company. She and George traveled together to Europe and the Caribbean Islands, creating memories that reflected her adventurous nature and her love of discovering new places. She loved the beach and found joy in its beauty and peace. Anita never missed any sporting events and spent much of her time with her grandchildren, whom she adored. She especially loved taking the grandchildren to Disney World, once with just the grandchildren and once with all the children and grandchildren, creating treasured family experiences that will be remembered for generations. She was also a wonderful cook, especially known for her Italian food, and she hosted holidays for many years, filling her home with warmth, tradition, and the comfort of a lovingly prepared meal.

Anita will be remembered as a loving, kind, and adventurous woman whose life was defined by devotion to her family and a genuine care for others. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength to those around her, and her memory will remain a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know her. Though she will be deeply missed, the love she gave so freely will continue to live in the hearts of her family and friends.
